Disclaimers

Please read carefully. These points explain exactly what a verified consent token means — and, just as importantly, what it does not mean.

Effective June 14, 2026

ThatsReally.Me provides cryptographic proof of consent — not legal advice, identity verification, or a guarantee against deepfakes.

1. Cryptographic Proof Only

The Service provides cryptographic evidence that a specific person approved specific content at a specific time. It does not guarantee that the person is who they claim to be in the real world, that they had legal authority to consent, or that the content is truthful or lawful.

2. Not Legal Advice

Nothing in this Service constitutes legal advice. The existence of a valid consent token does not create a legally binding contract or grant rights clearance. Users should consult qualified legal counsel for any significant use of likeness or content.

3. No Guarantee of Platform Recognition

While the Service uses the open C2PA standard (which major platforms are adopting), we make no guarantee that any specific platform — YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or others — will display, honor, or even detect the embedded consent metadata.

4. User Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for any content you consent to and any harm that may result from its creation or distribution.

5. No Identity Verification

We do not perform identity verification, background checks, or confirm that the person creating a consent token is the real-world individual depicted.

6. Limitation on Deepfake Protection

The Service can only prove consent when a valid token is used. It cannot prevent or detect deepfakes created without a consent token.
